After searching thru this section of the forums(Brakes), I just wanted a clearer definition on whether or not my 72' with factory swaybar will indeed be able to be retained when swapping out for the 73/74 spindles/uca/calipers I have waiting for it.

I found these threads:

are your LCA's have factory sway bar tabs? if not you need an aftermarket sway bar for a 68 (not a 73-76). I like Firm Feel bars. they install alot cleaner than others. if they do have sway bar tabs, are they inboard of the strut rods? if so that is for a 73-76 sway bar and they go thru the k-frame differently than 68-72.

The tabs are actually directly under where the strut rods mount into the LCA,on my 72' Duster.

The caliper was at the 11 o'colck position on the 73. It would hit the factroy swaybar on pre 73. My suggestion would be place the calipers at the 1 o'clock position and not worry about it hitting any sway bar you choose.

So if it is an OEM LCA With factory swaybar tabs, I have to swap the spindles from left to right to adjust the caliper mounting position to face the rear(1 o'clock position)of the spindle as to not interfere with said OE swaybar.

Sorry if it seems inane, or obvious....just want to make sure Iam understanding this fully before I begin tearing her down for the swap over.

yes that is correct. put the new spindles on the opposite sides. (R on the L, L on the R)

Sweet, thanks for the confirmation.

just wanted to make sure I was understanding that correctly before I tore it down.
