Hello Guys and Gals,

Does the shark tooth grill have to be removed to replace the lower chrome trim? If so anyone got a DIY I can use. Man I don't want to break anything. :-(

Thanks in advance.

Yes you need to remove the grill. The bottom trim is on the same way the top is, with small screws. The trim is usually filled with dirt inside the "crack", which harden with time, so a good soaking won't hurt. Aside from that, it should pull out reasonably well, without forcing it.

When you re-install, be careful to re-use the same screws, and DO NOT over-tighten, the screws are a bit on the long side, and protrude far enough to put pressure on the grill, and with time the pressure will make the grill crack.

So for sure, don't use longer screws.

Good luck!

Soak your screws with penetrating oil, the day before, get pliers to hold clips stable while on-screwing, as this is how the mounting tabs get broken. You can always re-glue them...Just kidding. you have 4 screws for each headlight corners, two are screws are in the grill, one at rad support (top), then the bottom of the headlight bezel.
The only other fasteners are the four plastic xmas trees, top of rad saddle, they sale replacements (don't know $), easier to cut them off then to force them with the grill.

The bottom of the grill, simply sits in three areas in the rad filler.
