72 Swinger Special

Thanks for the idea Jon, this helps with the pro-touring theme I have for this car.

I tore into the motor and it has been rebuilt before and is really clean on the inside, I'll just clean it up and drop it in. I also started prepping the engine bay for paint, did some fill work and had to weld in a patch panel where someone started to hack out the inner fenders for fenderwell headers. I swapped in my new 8 1/4 rear and my wheel spacers came in so I made sure the bullet wheels would fit without hitting the leaf spring. Now if only I could find someone with the rear sidemarker cutouts for a 70-71 dart I could start on the exterior paint.

Finally a car came into the local pick n pull that I could pull the front discs off of. Just ordered the front end bushings and a drivers quarter skin. Next finish up the motor and assemble the k frame and front suspension to get it back on all 4s for the first time in probably 10 years.

Well the heat here is rediculous and I havent been able to get as far as I had planned but I have made some progress. I will hopefully be painting the engine bay soon so that I can put the motor in.

Nothing special, just 1" spacers for the BBP '75 8 1/4 I swapped into it. I still need to fit the front, but cant yet because I am waiting to paint the engine bay before I install my new front discs from an '88 Chrysler 5th Ave.

I started rebuilding my transmission today, and Im glad I did, the clutches were all worn out.

Also got my other set of scoops in the mail and started stripping the layers of paint on them which revealed they were originally panther pink!

Now I just need a set of bezels for them. Anyone want to sell me some cheap? lol :-D

Im also going to need measurements for where to place the swinger emblem on the quarter for 70 Darts and I need to know what to use to replicate the sound deadening on the inside of the quarter panels.
