727 A or B?

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 727 A and B? I am buying a 1989 Ramcharger 100. Its a 2wd version with a 318. Through research I have found that it is a 727,but the specs say 727 A or B, not sure the difference? Can anyone help me out.

727 A small block , 727 B big block and 727-RG which bolts to the six-cylinder blocks.
