I have taken apart my first 727. I am installing new clutches and fixing an issue with the reverse servo. My question is about band adjustment. This trans was rebuilt and never ran, the servo popped out because someone had the thing messed up. The rear clutches are burned up, the front clutches are perfect and are upgraded 5 disc. I believe it may have has a trans go shift kit. It does have a restrictor in one of the valve body orifices, and some holes drilled in the valve body plate.

What should I set the bands at for initial adjustment, and where should the line pressure be set/adjusted?

You'll need the Transgo "widget" or spec if it has a kit in it for the line pressure adjustment.

The bands should be set to factory spec, unless Transgo says otherwise and the kit is installed.

I have shift kit installation directions here, if you don't have access to the specs you need.

I'm not sure it is a trans go. But I would like to see the instructions, maybe that would give me an idea if it is.

get a billet rear servo, that is a comon failure on an old worn case. Call John Cope at Cope racing... good luck!

Yes as max said unless you have a kit or newer style bands and material, again many variables..

The instructions won't be able to show what kit is in unless you have a working knowledge of different kits.

1 1/4" for heavy duty use, 1 3/16" for Street Strip. Thats B&M and Fairbanks specs.

Unfortunately, the pdf I have is a 518 kit, which won't help you.
