Has anyone converted their 727 dipstick tube to the boot style? I found this when searching online about dipstick tube leaks:

727 where can I find a new O-ring for the dipstick tube?!?

Seems like a good idea, here's a pic from that thread attached.

I realize that a tube that isn't warped/cracked and in good shape, aligned properly, should seal just fine. I have a small leak with mine, switched out O-rings, still leaks. Probably deformed but I can't tell. I don't want to pull the pan. This seems like a good solution so I'm wondering if anyone else has done it?

A ton of transmissions use those as does the A500 I have now and the 904 before that.
Always used RTV with the O ring style no matter what.

Wipe the hole out with solvent and coat the inside of it (the hole not the tube)with RTV and install the tube.
The Oring pushes up a small dam in front of it going in.
No more leak.
