Hey Guys,

I have a SB 727 here that I was told was a 72 727. The PO said the PK number id'ed it as a 72 trans. There is no partial VIN on the machined pad on the RH side of the trans(that would be way to easy!).

I need help confirming this trans as a 72 so I can use it for my 72 RR. It is currently missing its #'s trans and if this one is a 72 727, at least it will be the correct year.

The PK # is as follows- PK3640802 3989 5819

Any help with the ID or a good source for decoding the PK #'s would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Thanks Crackedback, my 72 RR is a late build car so this trans will fit my year pretty good.

Is this trans the same length as a standard SB 727? I have a SB 727 from a duster and the tailshaft seems to be the same length. The guy I bought it from said he pulled from a 74 Challenger which was obviously not #'s matching to the Challenger but it must have worked.

I have another question, what would this SPD represent: 710. This is the SPD of my 72 RR. I know it is a late build car but I want to know just how late.
