727 shifting linkage adjustment?

fellas

trying to adjust my shifts on a 72 727 transmission. right know there super close together and i need to delay them out. i know there is the rod at the carb but is there another adjustment point also? with the carb linkage which way would i have to turn it for the delay.. out towards the radiator or in towards the firewall? thanks for any imput.
 
The throttle pressure setup procedure is spelled out in the factory service manuals. I think the 72 manual may be available for download here somewhere.
