727 speedo drive

Hey everybody,got a question,on a 727 is the housing and gear for the speedometer the same as a 904.I used the housing and gear out of my 904 in my 727,seemed to fit but speedo doesn't work.I disconnected cable at trans with trans in gear and running,the gear doesn't turn.If they are different does anyone have one.Any help is appreciated,Thank's

904 and 727 are the same. The speedo housing needs to be clocked depending on the number of teeth on the speedometer gear. There are some numbers on the speedo housing. Depending on the number of teeth on speedo gear, you clock that to the notch/dimple on the tailshaft housing.
