pretty broad ? lots of variables this in not to my liking but is there a decent market
for a solid /6 driver quality 73 Base Gold Duster looking to buy one that's in process to tinker with and sell sometime in the future I have done several A bodies so I know all the ins and outs about them except if the 73 + have a market

There are certainly some things 'early Duster fans' consider drawbacks. and may limit its market vs 70-72.
A few random thoughts....I like the later 75/76 grille better. I am not a fan of the big black brick bumper guards, lol. Not sure on 73 -might have absorber bumper(with filler) in back- lot of guys don't like that. 73 does not have the seatbelt junk that was in 74- so that's a plus. No emissions inspection till 76 's here... There is a market, just not going to get big $ for any of them especially a slant. Like any other car, gotta get it cheap enough....

Yes but standing next to a ‘70-‘71 it takes the back seat position. Re-selling one might command as much money as the earlier years. If the cars fit and finish is triple mint, the price can or if purchasing, will reflect it and it won’t be to far off from the early years.

The look of the body is a harder sell than anything else. Most like the earlier models.

No shocks on the bumpers agree not the best looking hate the tail lights just looking to buy it for something to do everything is changeable price is $2900

Its probably common knowledge but did you know there was a 'Gold Duster Special' ?? - It was Gold on Gold with gold Carpets with a few luxury options fitted as Std (Incl I think Slant 225 auto) I'll see if I can find the original Magazine Advert & post it here for viewers.
Desirable looking package, bit like Grande Mustang.
Goodluck on buy.
Cheers Trev.

I presume it's a Gold duster - 1/2 Vinyl top - gold interior - gold paint - slant with A/C power steering AM radio

I’m not a hater on the changes done between the two styling years. Though I’m not really a fan of the Federal mandated big bumpers and heavy bumper shocks, the tail lights don’t bother me. I agree there not as good looking as the two stripe lights. Same with everything else that changed. To me it’s like you meet a ‘74 and say good looking kid until the older sister walks through the door and your eyes pop out just a little more.

For the price ($2900) is jump on it in a second flat. For me, a good body is 80% of my personal bane solved.

That's the Model: IF there's no major structural rust & you can Strike a Solid deal your Comfortable with ,I'd seriously Grab it !!.
You Could Also Chrome up & soup up the 225 if your Smog laws allow.
Have some Fun & acquire an appreciating asset.

I say, in general 73-6 will take a back seat price wise to the 70-2, that is the market. Same with any Mopar built after 71, just fact. There are people that might like the later duster better. BUT he will spend $ based on what is considered fair market value. The slant? many people love them, as I, but again the market for the slant tend to low ish. Most people but the slant duster to do a v8 swap later, some will enjoy the slant and decide to keep it!
You are asking can be buy this 73 slant duster, do some work on it and sell later and get your $ back or make a profit? I will say this after 30 odd years in the hobby, the more $ I spend ( yes I do all the work), the harder it is to get my $ back! But you doing work that NO seller will find fault with, will greatly help the sell it. Example: IF you do paint and body, take pics of every step, save all receipts, have a perfect topcoat on a effect straight body. If not perfect you need to sell to a guy that wants a driver quality only. NO you can 't pay a shop to do paint work on a cheaper car especially.
Rememeber, basically it costs (almost) NO more to restore a 69 383 Roadrunner than a 73 slant duster, other than the initial cost of the project!

Cool. No, had not been aware there was a 'next level' Gold Duster Actually wondered why the ones I have seen were not gold paint.

Not necessarily... Is it snake skin vinyl? Have 'Gold Duster' decal instead of regular Duster fender badges? I think they had their own 'special' side stripe.

Not that it matters much. I don't think the 'Gold' commands much premium over any other Duster. Maybe if it's the Special? But, that floor looks white in pic...

Making your money back or even a harder thing, make a profit requires practically a free mostly done car to start with while you do all the work as cheap as possible.

Many people foolishly add to the price of the car the cost of other people’s work and/or a hefty price tag on there own work.

Are we talking about the car or the sisters? :p

I know if I buy another A-body, minimal rust is the highest priority. Everything else is 'bolt on'
Both & agreed!!!!!

Haven't seen it in person yet but just looked at the picture again and yes it has the Gold Duster sticker on the fender also the side stripe

Not White

How complete is the car again?
inor ery complete took out carpet and cardboard headliner but that's minor and I have tons of A Body stuff anyway
Does it have the original wheel covers. Looking at an ad for the 73 says they had 'special' wheel covers. These:

Later 'golds' I see had the same covers as my 75
No but it does have 5 on 4 wheels on it that people would die for
