73 Scamp hesitation off idle sometimes dies.

It has the factory 1 barrel on it and if I try to give it more than 1/4 pedal it stumbles and dies.

Any ideas what to look for or change?

Is this only on start up? Is choke engaged ?

Once up to speed how does it run?

Is this new problem? What have you done between when it ran better and now?

Was it stored for winter? If so, how long did it sit?

Have you adjusted carb settings?

With a little info I'll give a little answer.
Accelerator pump, and/or timing.

Is choke engaged ? SEEMS TO BE WORKING PROPERLY

Once up to speed how does it run? GREAT, JUST OFF IDLE HOT OR COLD

Is this new problem? JUST BOUGHT THE CAR

What have you done between when it ran better and now? I DID ADD CARB CLEANER TO FUEL AND IT HELPED OVERALL

Was it stored for winter? If so, how long did it sit? SAT FOR A LONG TIME

Have you adjusted carb settings? NO

One other thing it does... if it sits for a couple days I might have to pour a little gas in the carb to get it started.

Maybe the fuel pump is weak at low rpm?
