This is going to evolve from the for sale thread, to the "look what the new owner is doing to it now" thread.
The fenders after they came back from acid dipping. Cost $25 more per fender, but no residue from media and all of the paint was gone. Nothing remained.
Here we have repaired the rust holes and straighten out the fenders.
I will try to keep this up and post more pics as I think to take them.

Some more of the fenders with primer. Rob, do you see what I don't see?
(hint what was one of Chase's favorite things about the car?)

Great work! I am partial to the fender top antennas though, I took mine off and welded in a square and then use filler metal to patch up the rest of the holes. Grind out the imperfections and then regular body work from then on out. This makes me want to get back at it on my car, but college surely comes first.

You removed the fender top turn signal indicators!!

That settles it,... He won't want Stella back now... :)

You can just thorw those in with the super cool Sebring seats... :)

Thank you for keeping us updated on her progress. It's good to see she went to a good home!

I'll show Chase your progress tonight.

Oh no! I didn't remove them. The fenders you gave me had no holes for them. That I will change, there will be fender indicators!
I put waaaaaay to much effort into fixing those dang turn signals to not have them on the tops of the fenders!
here are some more pics with the fenders in paint. I took the pics just before I turned on the heat in the booth. I need to spray some undercoat on the underside of the fenders and they'll be ready to hang.

You know this is going to have to lead to a full body paint, right..? :)

That looks awesome!

Chase is going to be jealous.

More pics, I hope to have fenders on this weekend.
Upholstery guy is due Monday to repair front seat. I'll gut it, and lay the carpet afterwards.
A total repaint is planed, late winter or early spring. Got to pace my self and my wallet.

Very cool!!!

You're definitley gonna give her back to Chase "better than you found her"...;-)

Thanks for the update!

I'm pretty impressed, this car is solid. No rust any where yet.
Not sure who put the left fender on, but they didn't bother with 1/2 the bolts. that's cool, less to take off.
Both fenders are back on, and everything is buttoned back up.
The valance panel is a little tweaked and front bumper has some damage to it. both were minor, was able to straighten the valance and I'll keep on the look out for a bumper.
the interior is next on my hit list. the carpet and seats are ready to go.
later this winter or early spring, we have another date with the paint booth.

The white stripes stay. The interior will stay tan. The color just "pops" I love it.
but here's some more pics. I took the car to a show, just for giggles. Got a lot of positive feedback.

Hey GunBunny!

How's Stella doing?

You never got back to me about needing those sail panels...

I'll trade ya for those ugly seats and beat up fenders.. :)

Chase graduates this year and wants "his" car back whenever you're ready... LOL

No updates on interior or paint..? What's up?

Oh yeah, we're going skydiving for his 18th birthday in June (right before I head back to Germany).

Chase will be going to University of Cumberlands :)

Hmmm,... I was sure someone asked that question before and Gunbunny answered it... Now it isn't here... I need that for our records when he sells Stella back to us. :)

It's been awhile but this weekend I got a head of steam and got off my butt!
so, here's the new pics. Keep in mind this was all done over an hour or so last night and about 4 1/2 hrs today.
Oh,the paint is T5 Sienna.
The first pic is right after the front seats came out.
The last pic in this set is the broadcast sheet. It wont be coming out.

Some more of the work we did. Had my son helping me. He's the guy cheesing while he was painting the sail panels.(Thanks to KeganB BTW)
This wasn't to hateful considering I've never laid carpet before. Ever! Not even in a house. I had to do so trimming and cutting the holes of the brackets. The car had a sound deadening package which I was unable to save. But it's all good.

Your 74 duster is the same exact factory color mine is(was). Except my interior is black.

My duster is now a yellow with black color.

Very cool! If I didn't know better I'd say you found the exact same seat we took out!

Chase and I still think those Sebring seats were cool... ;-)

He asked me the other day when I thought you'd be ready to sell Stella back to him... :)

He asked me if I knew what happened to my first car ('67 Dart GT). The last I checked, Bob Williams in Phoenix still had it and was willing to sell it back to me...

Nothing like a guy's first car, ya know!?

Thanks for the update! She's lookin' good!

He better save up his nickles and be ready to fight the wife.
When she saw the work, the love affair got deeper.
The pics don't do the car justice. Also a Mr. Clean magic eraser was taken to the dash and the steering column and wheel. They sparkle now. The package tray in the back and and a scrubbed headliner with a new carpet, the car smells new again.
Unfortunately I had some legal issues I was forced to address, so paint will have to wait until next spring. In the meantime, the stripes will be coming off and a serious buff job will taking place.

We will start saving nickles (and maybe a few dimes and quarters :)

Fighting the wife...? I think we'll try the "sweet talking" approach first! :)

Chase can be pretty darn convincing when he puts his "puppy dog" face on. :)

Great work on Stella!

So,... Anything new with Stella as of late?

Did you get the broadcast sheet Chase sent you?

Chase had some stripes added to the SRT-4 the other day. Kind of a retro/modern take on the old R/T Challenger dual stripe ending with SRT rather than R/T.

I told him he was doing a good job of taking care of "my" car while I'm overseas...

He said, "You get the SRT-4 back when I get Stella back!"

Guess I'd better subscribe to this thread and keep tabs on her... ;-)
