WHEN I DECODE THE VIN IT SAYS SLANT 6 BUT ENGINE CODE ON FENDER TAG SAYS 318 2BBL IM CONFUSED HAD 318 4BBL NOW HAS 360 4BBL BUT PUTTING 440 4BBL 727TF VIN ON DASH VH23C4F244607 ANY CLUE WHY DASH VIN SAYS SLANT 6 BUT ENGINE CODE IS V8 AND STICKER ON FENDER SAYS 318

You are absolutly sure it's a "C" and not a "G" with part of the tail missing? It is not uncommon for part of the "G" to not stamp properly or to be hidden by rust or damage. A "G" would be correct in both places.

NOPE ITS A C I TOOK OFF THE FENDER TAG AND LOOKED AT THE BACK AND THE VIN ON THE DASH IS A C ALSO PLUS WHEN IT WAS INSURED AND REGISTERED IT CAME BACKA 6CYL

I bet somebody got confused when they stamped the vin plate. It would not be the 1st time that it happened.
