Looking ahead, I may be putting grand daughters into mopars. My question is: I know they fail, and can't start the car, but do they turn off the ignition, after starting? (I was once young).
no, they only interrupt power to the starter from starter relay. if the box does "pop" while the car is running, it just wont have power at the key the next time you go to start it .there is a reset button, as im sure you are aware.
at least thats the way i understand them ,.. but im old LOL
If you unplug the seat sensors you won't have any problems. Did that to my '74 Charger before I even drove it off the lot. When I traded it in '77 it was still going strong.
