Can anyone tell me if a s/6 and tranny (auto) from a 74 dart will interchange with my 64 270 convert s/6 auto push button ??????

The snout on the Torque Converter is larger on the '74 and wont fit the '64 crankshaft.

The '74 has a linkage type shifter, the '64 is a cable type.

The '74 has a slip yoke type tail shaft. The '64 is a bolt on flange type.

The '74 engine and trans will fit along with the driveshaft. You would need a linkage type shifter.

As GGs66GT said, the whole drivetrain will fit if you want to use an aftermarket shifter or install a '66 A-body automatic column and linkage setup. You may have to get a different length driveshaft and you'll have to swap over the engine oil pan and pickup from the '64 engine. There will be other items that will need to be swap over too....like the carb, dist, and engine mounts, but those are easy.

Thanks for the information sounds like I may want just the engine, really the one I have
Now runs fine OK thanks again

If you just use the engine, you'll also need a bushing for the end of the crank to reduce the hole diameter to match your converter. They're available in many places on the web.
