Ok, I bought a 75 Scamp and there's one thing I don't like, its 14" wheels.

Of course I bought a \6 four wheel drum car, so among the first things I'm doing is rebuilding the front end (all parts included w/ car, cool for me) and popping on some discs (4.5" bolt pattern)

That opens up some options. I know I need to get/make adapters for the rear. That's no biggie, I can even compensate for offset most likely.

I have some 15x7 Magnum GT wheels that I know will fit. Even with a 3/4 spacer/adapter on the rear. Only thing, they look too much like Camaro/'vette/cop rims. Played out IMO. Probably get shod with some 225 or 235s with 50 or 60 series tire.

16x8 Starion/Conquest wheels with 4.125" BS (-10 Offset). Probably would fit in the front, and the rear seems tight with a 3/4 spacer. I'd go with 245 wide tires and a 45 series in front and 50 series in back.

Ok, now the 17" section of this long winded question...

Start off, Mustang wheels, so Backspacing won't be an issue. 6061 or 7075 AL Spacer/Adapters will be plenty strong and provide a proper offset.

8" wide all around or 9" wide in back or 9" wide all around?

I already have a pair of 9" but the 8" are pretty cheap. On an 8" rim I'd go 245 wide. 9" like a 255 or 265.

So there you have it. Stock Suspension 75 Scamp. So what fits (generally)?

Granted, I don't have the car yet so I can't get one of those fancy "see-if-it-clears" devices so I'm relying on all of y'alls experiences.

Thanks in advance.

did some test fitting today. The 76 dart should have the same wheelhouses right?

I tested 17x9 'stang rims and 16x8 conquest wheels.

17x9s will no way fit the stock wheel housings. I'd have to cut.

the 16x8s I have will fit, but only if I use a stock 8.25 rear (which I did locate for $150 at a jyard)
