I had a think '78 or '79 Aspen back in the mid 80's. It was a 6 with a/c 4spd o/d on the floor. Pretty unique car.
No a friend own's it. It was used on asphalt tracks and he bought it to add to his Kit Car collection. You may have seen his display in the Mopar tent at the Nats a couple years ago. He has the only un-assembled kit car kit known to exist. View attachment 1715288751 View attachment 1715288752 View attachment 1715288753
WOW I was looking for one of those a few years back. Short track terrors they were!
It probably had a 2.87 rear gear. A 3.55 or so would make it scoot. Those wagons seem to be screaming for a 408 stroker to me. I really enjoyed my 318/833OD RT, but it was heavy and even with intake/carb/headers that motor struggled to move the mass.

Yes, a SC T top car is the Holy Grail to these guys!Did they make T top Super Coupes?
I thought for sure I had seen one several years ago, but I have never seen another one and I've heard from some folks I trust that the "never" made any.
IIRC all were red/brown as well.
A friend save Sport wagon. I bet it hasn't seen the light of day for 30 years.I never said "fast", but I totally and completely disagree with "struggling".
They also made a "Sport Wagon" with stripes, flares, ground effects and special wheels that was not an SC.
True! And.....Faster than the Corvette. It got the honor before anyone saw them rust on the dealer's lot, too!1976 Motor Trend car of the year
A sad statement on the state of US cars at that time.1976 Motor Trend car of the year
