78 Magnum and 78 Power Wagon in Local Pickapart

-
The rear sway bar on the Magnum is a bolt on for 71-74 B body.

Def get the hard to find cruise cable to carb linkage and pin.

Also the trans bracket for the floor shifter.

Those two parts shouldn't be more than $5 and are worth almost 10 times more on ebay!

...BTW the cruise is also a bolt on..... for any Mopar!

I wish I had a few bucks for the Magnum rear 1/4's.

It loiks like that magnum has the gage cluster with tachometer thats a hard to find gage panel. You need to unbolt and get the entire cluster assembly, with printed circuit card on the back and get the auxilliary wiring harness for the tachometer. This whole setup is unique to the tachometer equipped 75 up chargers, magnums, cordobas. May be worth some coin to the right person if you get it complete.

Btw, the magnum has a 4bbl carb, unless somebody added that to the engine, more than likely its a 360 . The 318s for that year were 2bbl only.

Yeah I think they are around $60 a side but then shipping may be a killer.

$60 a side? I'll take the entire 1/4, both sides. So long as there as rust free as possible. You know how the North East is right?

Okay, went after work and managed to grab the carb, throttle bracket with all kickdown linkage, the floor shifter and ALL linkages and brackets from the Magnum.

The dash does have the tach but will be a pain to remove everything.

Also, there was a new gem that showed up today. A 77 Ramcharger with 360 4spd!!
It also still has the roll bar in it! Pics of that one soon!

And....some more

I managed to grab the front signal assemblies and the Ramcharger dash emblem.

Also, the radiator is a 3 row and the woodgrain dash trim was in very good shape. The short piece was dented pretty good due to whoever installed a snowplow hydraulic switch.

Also if still good on the Magnum, get the wiper transmission (just the short arm that bolts to the wiper motor with the rubber boot over it) in the cowel... if good they are like gold!

also as mentioned by YY1 the rear sway bar with the mounting plates (have to remove the axel from the leafs though)

The front sway bar links to the K-frame though they will likely break but if they dont they are good for the rear sway bar too.

Not as hard as you think. The white plastic housing that holds, the gages you unscrew from the dash. Should be phillips screws around the perimeter. Then you slide the, whole assembly towards you, disconnect the wiring harnesses from the back, unplug speedometer , and tach, which uses a seperate added on harness. Trace tach wires to ground, ign hot , coil at bulkhead.

The only wire harness you need to get besides the cluster assembly us the added on tach harness 3 wires. The entire rest of the dash wiring isnt needed as the same dash harness and plugs was used for all of them. That cluster complete, with the add on tach harness us prob worth an easy $100 to the right person.

It was a very rare option. Back in the 80s i'd junkyard crawl in new jersey about the time these cars, were hitting the yards, with rust issues. I had a 77 charger at the time. I could never find a tach optioned doba, charger, or magnum. And i looked thru a lot of cars. I saw a tach option on a black and silver magnum XE GT t top car at mopars at englishtown back in 88 it was the last time i had ever seen this option till now.

I could get the whole thing out in about 30 mins. Theres gold in them thar cordobas.

Bummer. :( I wish I could save that Mag.

That Ramcharger looks like a rare one: 4-speed and A/C...though I thought a 4-speed meant a 318...?
