what is needed to turn my 8.25 with 2.45 gears non sure grip into a 8.25 with 3.55 sure grip
so far i have found out that i need a suregrip differential carrier and a set of 3.55 ring and pinion gears. what else would i need.

Pinion seal, crush sleeve, cover gskt, gear oil.. ( axle seals) ??

There are 2 different carrier spline counts,, 27, and 29,(IIRC), you need the carrier to match your axles splines..

There was a year break,, hopefully someone will add when that yr was..

PS... the sure-grip carrier has to come from a 2.76 or numerically higher for use with 3:55s...

Oil,, there's lotsa opinion,, just be sure to ad a friction modifier for "sure-grips" or "posi".. to avoid chattering around corners..

I have the same set up as you. Going to 3:55, from 2:45, found a 3:55 r&p with sure grip in a 78 power wagon. Dr diff told me that he has a kit to swap everything over including all bearings for $110.
