No major mods are required, the spring perches need to be moved in. The overall width will work, as long as you don't expect large tires, some wheel offset can compensate for some of that.
You could bolt it in, but it's not recommended, the leaf itself can be bent/forced to fit.
But again, it's not good to do.

you'd need wheel with a ton ob backspace.

Good catch, I re-read the original post...Yeah an E body is quite a bit wider, I somehow figured it was a B body rear, sorry!
