I've got an 8 3/4" in the Dart GT. I've noticed some gear lube drops on the floor under the rear differential. How do I check the level? What should the level be? If it is low, what type of gear oil do I fill with (90W?)? Any specific brand? Does sure grip make a difference additive wise? HELP Please!!

Not sure of the type of lube, but pull the fill plug and it should be very close to the fill hole. Beyond me as to why ma mopar didnt put a drain plug in them.

There is a plug on the right side, remove it and stick your pinky finger in it you should see oil on your finger if not fill untill you can stick your finger in and get oil at the tip of your finger.

There is a plug on the side of the case. Fill it up until the fluid starts coming out of the hole which would indicate that it is full and then put the plug back in and tighten it down. Your Pinion seal is probably leaking. YES there is a Friction Modifier that comes in 4oz doses Mopar Performance makes some. You need 1 of them and about 2 1/2 pints of 85/140 Gear oil if it is drained dry to start with. Some guys use the lighter synthetic stuff but I dont.
