8 3/4 question

I found a A-body axle housing at the local junkyard. They want $250 for it. My question is will any of the center sections fit into any axle housing, the 741, 742 or the 489? And is $250 reasonable for a junkyard axle housing? Thanks.

Yea just the axle housing that has been sitting in the dirt, nothing else.

I just bought one complete, 741 with 293 gears 1 leg with springs and tires for $100 now being narrowed for Dart for another $200 so will be $300 total for complele drum to drum, Joe

It all depends if you have one now and if you see them very often. Your going to need new axles or old c body axles to get the bbp and the backing plates off that same c body will work in it as well and any 741,742,489 will bolt to the thing. So really as long as you have the housing your in good shape
