8 3/4 rearend swap ?

Does anyone know if you can take a 73 e-body 8 3/4 and put it in a 71 duster? Will it fit or do I have to get an a-body one? Does anyone want to trade if it doesn't work?

The leaf spring mounts are farther apart than A-Bodies. The E-Body rear is wider than A-Bodies and even B-Bodies. Your best bet is a B-Body. Just move the spring mounts in.

I have an E body 8 3/4 rear in my 67 Dart, but like mentioned I had to move the spring perches. I also have a set of wheels with a pretty big backspacing, so it worked out okay, but I agree, a B body would be the way to go. I thought that's what I was buying, but when I finally got around to putting it in and measuring it up it turned out to be an E body. You will almost certainly have to roll your wheel lips too if you go that route.
