8 3/4 swap

I am installing an 8 3/4 rear axle in place of the stock 7 1/4. My question is can I use the original shock / mount plate? The third member is the 489 case with 383 gear set. I will be installing a lunch box locker from Power Trax, any feedback on the locker?? I will be running about 325 hp.

You'll need new shock plate. Just suspensions sell new one I believe.

You will need 3" U bolts too.

some people just elongate the holes in the 7 1/4 plates....i didn't like the way the nuts tightened down, and didn't feel like shelling out the cash required for new ones, so i made my own:
