8 3/8 or 8.25?

Quick question. Is the 8.25 rear technically 8 3/8. I ask because the build sheet says 8 3/8

Correct, but that was always my understanding of the two classifications.....I just remember reading it somewhere. Not that that matters. LOL

My '80 Dodge D150 came with a 8 3/8. 2.71 gear open. I have the original build sheet. Just call it a 8.25

I believe trucks were called
8 3/8" and cars 8 2/5", it's all in the name...

Yes both are the same. Dad worked in a dodge dealership for 16 years from 1965-1979 and parts guys always were uniformed about the 8.25 and 8 3/8. My dad new by working on the cars and trucks that they were one in the same.
