8.73 rear??

its 8.75 but @ 48 inches i think that is near what a stock one is for an abody.

If it is 48" total width with the axles installed (and judging by the add and pictures that's what he is saying) the actual housing length itself is going to be way shorter in length (say, around 43"). Given spring perch width is 43" for an A body the ends of the housing are going to be sitting bang on top of your leaf springs. Way too short.

Put another way, an A body 8 3/4 is about 57 5/8 total width (ie drum to drum). This is around 48" drum to drum (or at least to the drum mounting face of the axle).
 
That would pretty much only work in a minitubbed/relocated spring car. 15x10's with roughly a 3.5" backspace

Agree with Sydcuda, the housing only is probably right at 43" wide. No chance that fits in a std spring location car.

IMHO, that's too much money for a stock axle shortened rear. You could get a B body rear, shorten and buy better axles for right in the same money.
