8 8 3/4 swap........drive shaft length the same?

ok dudes, i finally have my 8 3/4 rear axle ready to put in.........just need to know if the drive shaft length is going to be different.

i'm pulling out a 7 1/4 rear axle..............any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated..........thanks in advance,

no. a 7 1/4 and 8 3/4 drive shaft are different lengths.. 8 3/4 shaft is shorter.

If I remember right it is 2 inches shorter.

Approximately, it's best to measure correctly once the rear is installed.

thanks dudes, btw, i like the dumb *** that i am, i failed to say it's a 66 valiant. i have another shaft that is about an inch and a half shorter, i guess we will see what happens.......thanks again
