Has anybody ran the leaf up against the frame and drilled thru the frame and used a long bolt? Maybe reinforce the frame so it doesn't collapse?

I'm getting ready to do this. I welded a heavy wall sleeve in the frame for support. Still need to modify the mount to hold the outer side of the leaf spring and figure out something for the shackle mount

Not yet because I haven't done it yet. Just had knee surgery last week. As soon as I heal I'll tackle it and take pics and start a thread on it
