Recently have been checking out the ATI 8" treemaster converter. Is this a good choice for a non daily driver toy? 3.91's 360 with 292 mopar cam, 340 Victor intake.

Run a custom 9” non daily with 3.55 that were 4.56. I love it. To each there own!

Have an 8” tree master that flashes 5100 behind a 440, it sees a fair amount of street use and have not had a problem with it, no burnt fluid, never acted funny, and that’s with one of the cheap style trans coolers, it does have a deep pan, that’s with type f fluid as well. No converter inspection cover, and you can also drill 2 or 3 holes in the bellhousing to allow for more airflow across the converter

I'd be talking to an ATI person.

Maybe they can build you a tight 8" that would work but an off the shelf generic 8"..... not on a bet

Call ATI direct. They have a guy there named John that is a mopar guy. They custom built my 8" treemaster, but i'm primarily strip. the converter does behave VERY well for being such high stall, but "Daily Driving" you're asking alot i feel. Depends if daily driving is a 10 minute commute where you cruise at 45-50 mph, with a few stop signs... OR...you want to drive 35 mins down the highway at 75 MPH.... the Latter I would say is a no go.

Edge converters.
Call and talk to Andre, knows his stuff and mopars.
Get ready for lots of specific questions, ie:weight, gear, tire, engine specs, cam, use, etc. etc.
More info = better matched converter.
Mine has a 3400 stall and it begins to move when my foot comes off the brake.
No heat issues at sustained hwy speeds w 4.1 gear.
Hayden plate/fin trans cooler and oversized aluminum radiator.
