My 4 spd used to grind when downshifting so i bought new synchros and took it to a shop to have them replaced. He had me also get a new bearing in a race but don't remember which one.
Anyway, I get the tranny back and it downshifts perfect but grinds a little 2-3 and 3-4. I've adjusted the clutch to .050 clearance at the flywheel as the stock adjustments on the linkage don't work.
Did the trans guy screw up or does someone out there think I have another problem?

Play around with the clutch adjustment, sounds like the pressure plate is not lifting all the way.
Also what tranny fluid are you using, the wrong fluid may cause the up-shift grinding.

I've tried several fluids == latest was something that was pricey and formulated for 4 speeds but can't remember what.
