What year did the 904 torque converter get the larger diameter front snout? did the early forged 273/318 cranks all have the small pilot hole? I am building a 318 to replace the 273 in my Barracuda and have an early small pilot crank, want to make sure it will fit the converter.

I'm not absolutely positive but I think the small pilot converter was used through 67. 68 and up is the larger pilot on all engines but it's possible 273's still used the small pilot in 68. No experience with 273's to know.

I'm looking to keep the car running until the new engine is built, it goes OK just a bit tired and fumy. I have way to many unfinished projects around as it is so wantto keep downtime to a weekend. I guess I can get under the car and let the converter go and see if I can get it back far enough to measure the snout.

And the spare crank I have is a forged 273 piece.. I will rebuild the original 273 in the car eventually, the 318 can go to another project once its out of the Barracuda.
