904 Help please

My 904 doesn't want to shift into second until about 30 or so. It doesn't slip or leek or make any funny noise its just that the car is reving pretty good before it shifts. If I haven't given enough info its because I don't know a lot about automatics so please ask if you have any questions.Other than the shifting issues it seems fine. What do you think and how do I fix it. Thanks for the help.

Have you tried shortening the kickdown linkage?

I have not tried anything yet, I didnt now where to start.

No not really, besides I was wanting to fix it myself, I figured I got to learn somehow. Its just going to be me and a Chiltons lol.

Full travel of kick-down should adjust close with full throttle, adjust small increments either way to liking.

Well it sounds like the kickdown is the consensus; thats a relief, I was hoping it was not internal in the tranny or converter.
