Hey, Ive got a 77 360 with a 904 trans. I've bought a new convertor for it. Am I supposed to balance it ( the convertor)?

does the converter have any weights welded to the front of it?

360 externally balanced...needs weights on either converter or use B&M externally balanced flex plate

the B M flex plate will hit the stock splash shield. at least the one they sent me back in 90 somethig. the fix was to cut off the stock shield. keeping the part under the starter. and making a flat replacement out of Aluminum. i DID have a VERY LONG talk with them.

You don't say whose make converter you purchased, but a 904 converter for a 360 engine should have two weights on it. The weights are retangular in shape and measure: 1.62" x .75" x .360".
These weights are usually welded between two of the mounting pads.

To me the converter you've got would be for a 318 or the leaning tower of power. They supplied you with the wrong one.

Its a Hughes TC. I will check out the B&M flex plate.
