I came across some of my old pinouts and wiring diagrams I used to hook up a '94 5.2l magnum into my '74 duster. I'll work on getting the schematics scanned onto her later this week. This isn't a how to and any information provided within is to be used at you own risk.

However, I'm happy to provide as much information as I can to help anyone with their own projects. For now this is just the main ECU pinout for a 1994 v8 magnum engine.

The following should be read as (pin #, wire gauge, color/tracer, detail).

i'd be interested in seeing all this. have a 94 van with a 5.2 and was thinking of using that in the dart..

Thanks. I don't have a Magnum engine, but do have a Magnum intake, ECU, and wire harness I am considering installing on my 273 to get cheap EFI. Even if I use another ECU, I can use the wiring harness, so the pinout you gave is priceless for that.

I shouldn't be too bad on your 273, but the intake won't work. You'll need to get an EFI intake that will bolt to LA heads, which isn't too hard or costly. You also need a magnum dizzy, a magnum flywheel, and to notch your bell housing for the crank position sensor. All in all though it won't be too much.

My plan is to make the intake work. My bolt holes are 16 deg off vertical and just slightly inboard of the Magnum hole locations. Custom bent studs and a little grinding may make it work. The ports are taller, so may sculpt the outlets w/ epoxy to match my head. Hood clearance will be tight. I tested the fit when I had my intake off.

Not sure I can make the Magnum ECU work. I got one just to play with. I don't know if the crank sensor is used for EFI (sequential injection) or just spark control. If the later, I can do spark other ways. I put a 36-1 wheel on my crank pulley. I will probably use a Holley Commander 950 ECU I have with the Magnum harness. Another approach is a Megasquirt ECU, but I got the Holley ECU cheaper. I have a Magnum dizzy, but my idea is just for its cam sensor, for a custom ignition idea. I think the cam sensor is used only for EFI by the Magnum ECU. Like many people, I have many parts, some knowledge, but little time.

Sounds like you've got what you need. Do a little reading on it from what ever you can find and if you have any questions I'll help as much as I can. All in all it doesn't take much time. When I did the OBD2 setup on my duster, which is my second efi engine, it only took me a few hours once I found the wiring diagrams. But that was with the engine and what not already in.

I can't get them to flip right side up, so you can copy them to your own desktop to flip them if needed.

the speed sensor is a direct swap into any 727, 904, 899, A(500-518 ), (44-46)RE. What I did for my application was to source a speed sensor from a late 80's dodge truck that has output for both the electric sender, as well as a cable drive which operates my factory speedo.
