The reason I ask is I've been trying to finally figure out what mystery cam and lifters I have to set proper lash.
see my other thread Anyone have any idea what cam I might have?
In a nutshell, I'm pretty certain it is a mechanical (Solid) cam with .446/.456 lift. (lifters will hang the valves open If I apply a pre-load)
I finally took the lifter out to confirm (came out with a magnet through the "j" heads) and I'm certain this is a solid lifter since it has no oil holes or oiling band and doesn't have a spring on the inside, just has a "c"clip that holds the cup (pushrod seat) in. The cup has a cone shaped bottom and then empty space filled with oil. I can't depress it at all with a pushrod even with no oil in it..
My only concern is when I read about "Anti-pump up lifters" and them needing to be set with near Zero pre-load/lash.
Can someone confirm the below picture is 100% a solid lifter and that a "anti pump up lifter" looks completely different?
