99 jeep 4.0

anybody had one of these 4.0 jeeps? theres one for sale here with 150k miles and a 4.0, looks like it was taken care of(nice paint, body, interior) and seems to run ok. how many miles are these 4.0s good for?
 
Not sure how many miles they are good for but I have owned 3 (on my 3rd) Jeeps, all with the 4.0 and I love them. Very good motor i think. Do some research on some Jeep sites and you will probably find they are very well liked.
 
I was a tech at a DCX dealer and we saw many to 250,000 miles no problem. Some are a little noisy, but still run strong.
 
I got a 03 Jeep with the 4.0
A buddy of mine is a mechanic and he said the only problems with the 4.0 is the water pumps go bad pretty quick. But other than that he said that they are great motors.
 
My 4.0 inline is very strong and don't use any oil 185.000 .its a 97 and the wife drives it. I have herd nothing butt good things about this motor and the
performance is great. I would buy another:cheers:
 
good to know, this one is a 99, very clean inside and out, has 150k so if these damn things will run past 200k than i might have to go make a deal. hes asking 3300.00 right now, sound like a good deal? oh, and what kind of gas milage do these 4.0s get? automatic
 
I bought mine new in 99. I love it and have not had a single problem.
 
I had a 90 cherokee was a good rig had plenty of power. I got about 16 mpg with it everyone i talked to said about the same thing it just didnt get good enough mileage for me for the size needed more seating and could get just as good mileage(or very close) with something with more seating. not sure if the newer ones get any better mileage though. Not real bad mileage just not enough seating for me
