A 1974 Duster - My 2nd one, 41 years later!

Kinda slow at work today so I got to working on my Contour dual fan, soldering up the harness, ready to install and attach left side red/black wires to the relays, right side black wire is a ground:

I think it was member goldduster318 that drew this up, thanks to him. This is how I wired it up. If you look carefully in the fan pic...You will see that I have it wired Wrong. I accidentally soldered in the #1 fan (on the left) ahead of the resistor hot (green/blue) lead. I will cut the connections out and fix this. The resistor must be the first in line joined to the main "hot" lead, before the fans as the diagram shows. Silly me.

Alex, I think I've read this thread about 20 times, every time I do I get blown away by your build. This has to be my favorite build on here. Not just because I've got a 74 but, the way you make it look easy. Keep up the amazing work, Merry Christmas.

Ok...as basement dungeon remodel is 75% done....I am going to balance things a bit so on the off night when I don't feel like working on the basement, I will get back to finishing my 408 and see if we can get it installed in the car! My garage is heated so we'll just fire up the heater and get going! Going to invite Higgs over for a beer or two this week to help button up the top end. ARP we see fit that the heads are securely in place......yes that is the kitchen counter top, haha.

Thanks to my Colorado Mopar bros Brock and Brian....We bolted down the heads and started pushrod measuring. Great to have you guys over! 110 ft lbs. of torque makes old guys flex the muscles they have left. Haha!

What? No pic of Higgs doing the muscle flex.:poke: Must have been his turn for the supervisory roll.

Lol! I noticed that too! Every pic Higgs is just standing there with a beer in hand! Must be nice being supervisor! :D

not bad for three ***-kowns that don't know what the're doing, now we have to take it all apart due to the washer i dropped down the intake, alex didn't say anything about that part............i think we left the clay in there when we checked the valve to piston clearance too, no wonder it was so hard to roll over..........oh well, have another beer! that's one thing we definitely now how to do, right jaws?

Everything is better when you have another beer. How did you drop a washer down the intake bolting the heads on?:poke: The clay will burn off as Alex runs the car.

I was and am sick of working on the basement, and I wanted to work some on my engine after work yesterday...So...got the Drivers side rockers all shimmed out nicely last night. All rockers are centered over the valves with nice movement but no side to side play. It took quite a few times of on and off, adding and subtracting the different sized shims Hughes included with the kit, but I won.... rockers shimmed up nicely. I'll do the other side tonight.

^ Not sure, I did it by feel, they move freely up and down, but literally no side to side movement. But now that you ask...I will look into it before it runs.
