^ I thought so too, Thanks Dave. Focus/Direction: Hook everything up in order to start it up, mechanically sound. Move onto paint, this arrived this morning:

Looks like all of this should have been put together in NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building....God Speed Alex

The hood and scoop, cowl, down the top part of the fenders, top part of the doors and around the windows: Hot Rod Satin Black. The rest all Sassy Grass.

^ Yup, gotta shoot the front of the core support in black. Will do!
When you planning to paint the car? Good chance we'll be out in co again in march. If we can work something out I'd love to come check out your progress and hang out again!

Plan is to get it running first, then move onto paint.

Caleb, you are welcome to stop over, hang out whenever you are in town.

Borgeson PS gear arrived. Installed it. Still header contact problems. Gonna take the Borgeson gear back out, grind a lil' on the one spot where the header is contacting the gear. If it requires a small dimple in the #1 header tube...then so be it, I'll dimple it. I'll post pics.

Why can't headrrs fit? Why Damn it? lol. Doing the top of the fenders and around the top of side windows is a great way to go with the hood black.

Yup, Paint scheme just like Richard's gorgeous 72' is done, only mine will be green with a black stripe. Thanks for posting pics of your car, great inspiration!

Headers don't fit Bob, because the F'in' headers don't fit, LOL! I am not sure if it is the Schmock conversion spool mounts, modified slant 6 K member, possibly the aluminum heads stick out a slight bit too much, maybe bad bends by Dougs, maybe they were never meant to fit a 74' with power steering...or just my bad luck. Even with a $566.10 modern smaller Borgeson gear the headers still hit the F'in' gear. I will win, don't you worry! The Borgeson gear is staying because it will be nice to have the more firm modern PS set up, and the gear is much smaller/lighter and black, and doesn't look like the space shuttle in the engine bay like the OEM one did. Let me take some pics so you can see what the F is going on.

The current issue or problem. The new smaller PS gear still runs into the header, making it where you cannot tighten down/bolt up the header flange to the heads...see the 1/8" gap. This is only another hurdle in the hot rodding process. Marked the spot where the contact is, going to remove PS gear and the header and heat and dimple it. I will win. Is this because of these heads??? I don't know. Is it caused by the slant 6 conversion K member??? I don't know. All I know is I'll have to make it work.

Got the PS gear back out, lifted the car as much as the jack would go and the header slid out the bottom. Lil' dimple coming this weekend.

Painted my grill in a semi-gloss black. To be a lil' different I removed the center horizontal bars from the grill. It just looked so busy with all the horizontal bars. I like it.

Alex...if possible, you might try positioning the motor to the pass side, bolting up the drivers side header....then re-positioning the motor back where it belongs.
