A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

-

Wow, that is one beautiful BT, 409. My first hot rod was powered by a 348, and had a ton of fun with that thing. I paid $50 for that engine, so you know it was a long time ago. So I have a soft spot for those engines. They look so good too.

Actually my Dad sold a hemi to by best friend which he put in a 54 ford, so I ended up buying the 348 from another friend. (Irony)

62BT409, that is one sweet ride.

Since I have known Jim, he has sold a couple of other "sweet rides". His beautiful
'64 Max Wedge Savoy and his dual-primer '68 Hemi Dart clone.

Damn rich kids. lol

wasn't me....I spent a lot of time carrying out groceries after school and weekends to save the $1150 I paid for that 21K miled Get-X.....and it was worth every freakin' minute.

I wish I grew up in Findlay.............
If you did, you and Denny would have gotten into so much trouble that
you would be just getting out of street racer's prison right about now.

Also, we would never have met Jim, Tod and Donnie.

You could always move here now. I keep pointing out spots that would
be great for "The HOT ROD Restaurant" every time you visit.

A lot of car for a goofy (me) 16 year old....we are lucky they didn't get wrapped around a telephone pole.

well, now that you mention it....
my brother wrapped his first car(70 'Cuda) around a phone pole at the rear wheel
and me, well. . . .
i was doing a burnout :burnout: around a corner and spun mine around 2 1/2 times and the rear passenger corner went into the fuel tank of a parked semi. and being an irresponsible teenager, i fled the scene and sold it a short time later.

If we're posting some old Mopar pics.... hammering on the 'bird.
This is from around '81-2 ish.

Street Machine Nationals at Indy, they let us drive the track! Every year we went to that event... and drove our cars there! Mine had tunnel ram and 4:10's in the Dana, about a ten hour drive.

Just bustin your balls.:glasses7:

I worked for a nursery shoveling top soil into 80 pound bags to earn the money to buy my 70 340 Challenger. And your right it was worth every minute shoveling all that dirt. I will say this though, doing that every day after school and all day Saturday I was in damn good shape. lol

I hear ya'....specially on the ball bustin,

knowin' we earned the $$ by our hard work..... made cruisen those rides all the sweeter.

My favorite of the bunch. Fun to drive too! The Max Wedge is one of my favorite Mopar engine packages. The push button 727 is just plain cool. The black/red combo is perfect. The car looked fast sitting still.

I've driven them all except the BT. And the new 'cuda - yet. The Hemi Dart was fun. The Demon is fun (I think I've driven it more than Jim LOL). The RR convertible is a great car to cruise around in & looks awesome.

Jim needs to post the pics of the sweet '67 El Camino that started this whole muscle car thing for him. Very nicely restored White small block/4 speed Elky. Of course Jim had plenty of other cool toys before these too.

:cussing: You old farts got all the cool cars! I do like the rare silver on that GTX.

I was born too late. I would have been in my glory if I could have bought any 21k musclecar (but specifically '66 GTO, '68 GTX, '70 440x6 Charger, '64 Max Wedge Plymouth or Dodge, etc).

When I was in high school, the cars that were affordable were the mid to late '70's junk (my first car was '76 Grand Prix). '80's performance cars were too expensive.

I would just like to have your "rejects"

Jim, You could probably win a lot of popcorn with people betting
on what car is under which cover.

I am thinking the BT409 is on the top right but I must admit that I
am flumoxed on the rest of them.

Is that particular picture one of the "non-current" offerings?

Maybe the '64 Max Wedge on the upper left and the Hemi Dart clone
on the lower right?
