Hey guys I have swapped my /6 for a sb 318 in my 74 Duster. I was hoping I could get a couple pictures from a couple people. I am running into power steering box clearance issues.
In the picture its hard to tell but the exhaust manifold is about a 16th of an inch from sitting on top of the steering box. That's with shimming the rubber mounts for now.

I am looking for a picture of a factory SB A-body's steering clearance, as well if someone has pictures from the same swap /6 to sb. I plan to replace the steering box later with the smaller
Borgeson kit.

What did you do for mounts? did you use a v8 k frame or conversion mounts? Also factory v8 a bodies had a special left exhaust manifold to clear the box. The one in your pic doesn't look right. here are some pics: Also this one is on the load to Carlisle. It it's what you need it's $75 plus the ride.

Sorry I was thinking the parts I had and forgot to added them.

I am using the QA1 tube K frame with the factory -67-72 SB engine mounts.
I have a factory 76 manifold on that has the outlet towards the firewall. The issue is the middle of the manifold practically sits on the steering box. The outlet clears, but close fit. My concern is boiling my steering fluid at the box.

IS it a factory 76 A BODY manifold? The B/E bodies did not use the manifold I pictured. It pulls out away from the engine and has a cutout for the steering knuckle to clear exactly what you are talking about

Hmmmm, I will have to grab the part number off of it again. It's been a bit but I traded someone for them before I put the motor in and thought they were right. But with that part aside I am planning on putting headers on in a few months as well, so I'm wondering if they will clear the steering box now or will I need the Borgeson one?

The early left A body manifold was a bolt on fit and works on all 67-76 A bodies PS or manual. You don't have to get it from me. It's common and came on every 318 A body from 67-72. It's going to be your cheapest and easiest fix.

That looks like a B/E body driver side manifold in the car.
