I guess some of you may have seen, back in October I picked up my first (and last) build. I've never done any work on cars before other than a simple oil change but I can figure out how things work if given enough time and I have a lot of ambition. With that being said, I'm knee deep in the interior and came to the heater controls. When this was in the dash, the buttons would push all the way in and stay there. So I pulled it out and this is what I saw...
A few of the electrical contacts from the back of each button fell off, so I removed the others. My questions are, is there something missing from back here? What is that bullet looking thing on top with the blue tip (I saw one in the dashtray assembly too)? Shouldn't there be something forcing the buttons back forward once another selection is made? Can someone please post a pic of a good control and give me an explanation of how it works?
