These are some pics of the one year progression of the Dart-A-Cuda. I am currently awaiting the arrival of my manual steering shaft. I'll then be searching for gas tank floor pans and headers. The project has been very rewarding, and I've met a lot of great people along the way! Oh, I'm also looking for a 65 Dodge Dart front left fender. Thanks FABO!

Bitchin'! Where did you find that thing? What are your plans?

I actually picked her up in SC. I picked it up from a relative. Been sitting down there about 20 years. I want to get it on the street and eventually make a pass or two at the track.

That's cool a 66 Barracuda body and a 65 Dart front. I've seen this done before and it makes a one of a kind car. Have fun and keep us posted on your progress. toolmanmike

Hey Rich - I have one that "might" be better than what you have. I will try and get some pics after work today.

sent from my iPhone

Quick update - I have been doing some brake work on the front axles. I am going to have to stick with the drums until I can find a front end disc brake set up at super reasonable price. Oh well, I'll just keep looking. I snagged a copple of dog dish hubcaps, and threw them on just to see how they look. I'll keep on working and keep posting.

I'd like to update everyone who has subscried to this thread and let you all know that I am finally the proud owner of a set of World Famous Harold Johnson Spitfire Headers!!! I just got them this week and I am trying to have them on this weekend!! Take a look!!! If anyone has any ideas on collector attachments and down pipes let me know. I have two flow master mufflers, and I really want to have the pipes exit in front of the rear tires, with an H pipe connecting them. Let me know!!! Thanks!!!

I manage to get the driver side and passenger side spitfires on this weekend, but not without a challenge!!!! The driver side was a learning experience, I had to be patient and tighten each bolt 2-3 turns almost at the same time. It took me a while but I manage to get them in and tightened firmly.

As you can see it took me into the night trying to get the passenger side on. One thing however is that I did use the tighten all bolts at the same time method which helped. I do have the 90 degree oil filter installed, and I moved it to the 1 o'clock 2 o'clock position, however I over looked resealing it, and when I went to test the headers, I blew all of the oil out of the block. I shut her down to avoid destroying the motor for a minor mistake. If anyone knows where I can obtain the gasket set for the 90 degree oil filter adapter I would appreciate if you would let me know. Thanks!!

What gasket do you need? The one between the block and adapter housing? I have one I can send you. There are a bunch on eBay too, there are also 2 smaller gaskets that go behind the bolt.

BTW, that car looks cool with the 65 Dart clip on it!!!!

66340Sedan - I have the rubber gasket which goes inside the adapter, however I lneed the two smaller gaskets behind the bolt. I believe when I pulled them down they may have fallen into the oil drain pan.

I was able to find the rubber gasket for the bolt, and I plan on using rtv on the outer ring. I was also able to pick up a newer radiator.

The car is coming along. I have found four new sets of tires with Steelies to accompany. I'm working on the brakes now and she should be road ready very soon. I am posting a couiple of recent pics.

I am a 66 Valiant/Barracuda fan. I saw an awesome Dart wagon along Ohio 250 last week. This gives me the inspiration to create a Validart Wagon - graft a Valiant front end on it.
