I've read so many threads on magnums and I'm debating on going from LA to magnum. Here's where the difference of question comes into play.

I have muscle cars and all the fun cars but I also run demolition derbies. My current set up is 81 318 from an R body. Chinese air gap. 1406 Eddy. Chevy style HEI distributor. Hughes whiplash cam. Stock valve springs. 8.75 with 3.55 gear, stock 727 trans...It runs great it runs hard it takes heat, but...

I need more Jeff coyler is building some insane sbc that scream and take heat incredibly well.. But they range from 8k to 15k and I'm not in that budget.. let me hear from some of you engine builders takes as we all know Mopar doesn't have the support GM have.. I'm on a tight budget with this hobby.

I'd like to hear some ideas on what you suggest for a build. 5.2 or 5.9 I prefer to run front dress from the LA I'm not running electric fuel pump so keep that in mind i want higher rpm but it's not for long periods. Keep in mind it's a derby so it's on and off throttle ALOT. Lots of heat i want a bit of a hotter cam low end is crucial but I know you don't get both low end and good rpm but I don't run a tach but I run my 318s well over 5000 or until valves say that's enough either or let's hear some ideas
