THEY BLOW. Just drank the prep junk, and waiting for the worst. I have to get up at 3AM for round 2. I'm guessing Friday afternoon and Sat I'll be doin a LOT of sleeping. And they are sticking a camera in "the other end"

Smart thing to do though. You'll get through it and hopefully all will come back with good news. Then you'll be glad you did it and can go another 5-10 years before the next time.

Yeah, they are no fun, but then my Dad died of colon cancer and I'd rather have one every year if it would avoid that horror show. Since I have a family history, I've had one every 3 years since I was 55.

I know Ronnie Sox's wife and family wished he had gotten one...

Normal Dell.
" The gallon'o diarrhea juice "
Say..aren't you a little late for that culo cam appointment? You're...hmmm 67? I'm trying to remember, I know you've told us before

I've heard prep sucks, but the procedure is nothing because you're "out" My boss had it done at 9 and was at work by noon. He just said he was hungry.

LOL. Not to make light of it, but that's nothing compared to a prostate biopsy. THAT hurts.
Mine wasn’t that bad. Sure had worse pain inflicted by medical professionals. Colonoscopy is painless.

Yup, real pain in the kiester

Word to the wise, after the operation...do NOT ask the doctor is she enjoyed the view

I just had my colonoscopy a week and a half ago. Two small non cancerous polyps removed. I go back in five years Lord willing.

The prep is no biggie. I felt good by being cleansed and the prep is not like intestinal flu. The scope doesn't hurt and you don't know it is done. You will be tired for the rest of the day. Get it done and get good results. I had one done and have been doing the yearly stool samples you send in. So far, so good.

Just wait till they ram that camera up your pee hole.. that's when the fun starts.

Any yeah, I've the camera up the back side more than once. That juice tastes like crap.

I had my first one last spring. The only part I thought sucked was forcing down the 4 litres (maybe it was 8?) of the juice; 1/2 the night before and 1/2 the morning of.

Shitting through the eye of a needle was no big deal, and I was actually hoping to watch the whole thing on the monitor but 2 minutes after they put the IV in me it was "good night Irene". For the rest of that day I was careful not to blow any farts since I didn't want to shart my drawers.

Felt polished and ported though for a few days.

Fun fact: the stuff they put me out with was Fentanyl - only from a reputable source and administered by trained professionals.

and we wonder why medical prices are so high. lol
A proper diet and activity will prevent 99% of fatal medical conditions

This one is not "routine." My first was ?? 8-- 10 years ago, then another about a year -- year and a half ago. They said something about polyps and wanted to decrease exams to about every 3 or so. Somewhere between Thanksgiving and Christmas my bowel / stools changed. This is somewhat difficult to determine because I've had loose/ irritable bowel on/ off for decades. For the expert on here, diet does not effect that for me, much.

Also, I had some hits, "spots" on my liver/ pancreas were discovered when I had Covid last May. So just recently did a routine follow up MRI which revealed they are not growing, but I have to repeat that now routinely to make sure, etc.

I'm gonna go get a fast shower and go to bed. I have to get up at 3AM for "round II" the exam is at 8AM.

Good luck to you Del. Hopefully, they gave you the two 12 oz. bottles of prep instead of the gallon jug with powder in it that you fill up with water and drink. Have a good nap tomorrow....the times I've done it has been some of the best sleep in years, thanks to the remnants of the "Jackson Juice"! The recovery room of a Gastro clinic is about the only place in the world you will have a bunch of good looking women encouraging you to fart!

The worst part of this for me this time was with all the fluids you have to drink during the two part system it must have moved a kidney stone I have. I passed one five years ago in my motorhome during a race at Norwalk Ohio. I’m a side sleeper and it really bothered me for 4-5 nights and I had quite a bit of blood in my urine. Everything is tamed down for the last couple days. It’s hell to get old but it sure beats not making it to getting old.

No, you got this, be worried if the doctor has a smile on his face.

Try having a TURP surgery, they ream your prostate out. Then they pull out the hose. You piss blood for two weeks.
