A thought: A500 ??

OK, I hear alot about putting an A518 in a Dart, and what a pain it is.

I am ultimately planning on building my 904, but what about the A500 trans? They seem to have come in alot of the small V8 pickups and Jeeps.

Would it feasible (or possible) to put one of these in a Dart, or does it require the same type of extensive modification to the car as the A518?

I just thought it might be cool to run one if possible, and then put 4.10s in my car rather than 3.55s :thumblef:

The A500 is based on the 904 and the A518 is based on the 727. The issue with either is the size of the transmission behind the main case. In either case you are going to have to cut open the floor and torsion bar cross member expanded the area and weld in new metal.

Kinda figured it was something like that. Oh well, thought I would ask.
