adding adj timing control box

does anyone know of the brand/part # of the part with the adjustable knob to advance/retard timing? I have a MSD 8680 but it requires a several hundred dollar MSD box to go with it. thank you for your time. RR

I have a MSD 8780 "ping control". Looking for the wireing diagram. Not using it right now, and don't remember if it needs a MSD "box".

It looks like from all of the MSD wiring diagrams that the 8780 requires an MSD box.

I couldn't find a diagram for the 8780 online. If I remember correctly, I had it wired with a MSD 7 analog box, back in the late '70's, early '80's on my turbo slant. Back then there was no such thing as a "boost timing master".

I got ahold of the MSD tech & he said their 8782 unit for HEI ignitions would work on a basic chrysler electronic dist so I got one coming from eBay. thanks guys.
