Adjustable vac advance

What size of allen key is it...i have some tiny ones...but didnt get it to engage anything. And what does tightening and loosening it do....

I do understand what vac advance does...just not sure how to adjust the can...

I believe it's 3/32 Allen key. You turn clockwise to reduce and delay vac. advance, and counter-clockwise to increase and bring advance in earlier, I believe.
