just wondering if auto meter digital gauges are any good .they arent cheap so i was thinking they would be okay but just checking if any one has used them or had any issues with auto meter in general. im looking at the 5 gauge set pn 6500 and the tach has to be bought separate .gonna be about 800 i think after tax.or should i be using mechanical gauges for water and oil . i think i will be rewiring the car if it makes a differance. thanks

I'm currently rebuilding a dash and gauges with auto meter sport comps. A member here, V-100, posted today about an another USA gauge company: http://www.marshallinstruments.com/ that has some nice looking gauges too. Are you set on the digital look?

the main frame of it is 16 gauge sheet metal that i cut bent and welded .then i welded some 1/4 solid round bar all the way around to get the raised edge then did some bondo work on it . the carbon fiber part is aluminum cut to just fit on the inside then drilled the holes through both parts at same time then i wrapped the aluminum with the carbon fiber looking fabric.

heres a few more pics

its going in my 1970 340 dart swinger replacing the factory ralley dash

Auto Meter Sport Comp II's inside (and out). Had a couple of electronics/calibration issues but they were very good about repairing/replacing them.
