I have a '74 Duster that the previous owner cut a big hole in the dash for what ever reason. I am in the middle of re-locating the battery before I start the engine to break it in.

I wanted to start looking in to some ideas of what to do with my hacked up dash. It looks like they cut it with a pair of tin snips. I am tempted to smooth it out and fill it in with a fresh metal and start from scratch. Probably as a Fall/Winter of '09 project.

If anyone has any ideas of what to do or pictures I would greatly appreciate it.

I'd fill it.

I put my radio in the glove box. I have a CD player with a remote, so it doesn't matter where it is as long as it's within range of the remote control.

I never filled the spot where my factory radio is. I left the factory radio in the dash to keep thugs from breaking into my car.

73 duster with radio in glove box also....good old remote...
