Heater hoses. Sadly, we need them.
The plumbing isn't an issue, it's the looks.
I'm not sure why Eddy decided to put the 3/8" hole on the wrong side. I was going to drill and tap the 1/4" hole larger but I thought I'd check in to FABO before I do. How have you air gap people plumbed these? The one hose has to cross the rad hose...

I have a stainless steel 1/2 nipple fitting on the other hole closest to the temp sender.

I have my coolant temp sensor where your heater hose barb is now. (I used a reducer) and then my heater hose barb in the empty hole next to where your current temp sensor is. I plugged the hole where your coolant temp sensor is.

I'm wondering if the 1/4" i.d. is enough flow to still be 'hot' by the time the coolant gets to the heater core? If it is I'll just use the 3/8" hole.

I am pretty positive I used 1/2" and 5/8" hose on mine. 5/8" hose on the water pump and 1/2" on the barb. You can find fittings with the correct threads for the intake side with a larger barb on the other end.

On my airgap i drilled & tapped it next to temp sensor. Otherwise hose will go to far to driver's side. I did it for better aesthetics. Either hole will work.

it is a fair question, though. Why wouldn't Eddy do it right? I wonder if the Chinese knock-off air gaps have this issue???

I don't understand what Eddy "didn't do right". The 1/2"OD nipple has an ID just a C-Hair under 3/8" and fits just fine as pictured in the 1/4"NPT hole. No issue as far as I can tell.

yours looks just fine ^^^ . I have an Eddy Air Gap for a magnum, if I ever get to the project, i'll see first hand.

Why not just buy the correct fitting, instead of using a hardware store reject.

I just ran mine to the "wrong" side. Doesn't hurt anything at all. Pardon my grease, it's winter, I drive my car everyday, and I don't care. :p

I picked up the fitting today. I'll run it through the 1/4" and if there's an issue I'll drill and tap it to 3/8".
Thanks for the input.

Mancini's should have the correct fitting.
